Job Summary:
The Trainee Software Engineer role is to assist in the development and management of the application code for a small system or part of a project. The Trainee Software Engineer generally starts working on a single platform with a focus on a single service. This is an entry-level role and typically works under direct supervision.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Project Planning, Tracking, & Reporting
· Communicate regularly about the status of the tasks assigned.
Development & Support
· Build the code according to the technical specifications, detailed design, maintainability, and coding and efficiency standards.
· Use code management processes and tools to avoid versioning problems.
Testing & Debugging
· Write and execute the unit test cases and test each piece to verify the basic functionality before comprehensive testing.
· Debug and resolve any code or interface problems encountered by Test Engineer.
· Fix function testing issues and/or client issues.
Documentation
· Create documentation for the code as per defined standards and processes.
Process Management
· Adhere to the project process.
Qualifications
: Technical Qualification:
Java, J2EE, Spring or Struts, Hibernate, Oracle or Db2, SQL (Mandatory), Java script, JQuery, Basic Unix.
Formal Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree (with preferred concentrations in Math, Computer Science, Engineering)
- 2 - 3 years of Java Development Experience is a must.
